I am recently retired. After 35 years, I thought I had done it all. I spent 25 years guiding outdoor brands with an ethos-driven brand strategy including Sitka Gear from struggling start-up to +$100 million revenue. I led large scale brand turnarounds and breathed new life into struggling outdoor brands. I ran a multi-million-dollar innovation venture fund, helped solve complex technical problems that laid the way for cloud computing, and worked in spaces as varied as smart apparel, big screen TVs, military aircraft and supercomputers.

I thought it was time to hang it up and work on my fly casting. But after spending 3 months off the grid hunting and fishing with my son, I came back excited to build brands and help them improve people’s lives.

I have a +35-year track record rapidly transforming businesses by focusing on building excellence in the “Last Mile” activities and processes – i.e. manufacturing, supply chain, order/inventory management, customer service, etc. to drive superior operating and financial performance.

My favorite highlight was when my team led U.S DoD production strategy and execution to replace the HUMVEE fleet with Mine Resistant Vehicles (MRAP) to reduce deaths and brain injuries of service personal in Iraq & Afghanistan. In 12 weeks we ramped production from 2 to 60 MRAPs a day, saving 1,000s casualties and cementing program success for Gov & OEM’s.

I firmly believe transforming the “last mile” is the fastest and most effective way to deliver step change in financial results and boost business value.
